MIAMI -- Nick Martinez enjoyed his homecoming. Gino Cappelletti Jersey . And, after an anxious ninth inning, his friends and family got to celebrate a win. Martinez allowed two runs and struck out a career-high seven in six innings of work, Alex Rios drove in two runs and the Texas Rangers survived Miamis last-inning rally to beat the Marlins 5-4 on Wednesday afternoon. Marcell Ozuna and Jarrod Saltalamacchia homered in the ninth for Miami, but the Rangers held on for a split of the quick two-game series. "It was great," said Martinez, who had about 100 family and friends in the stands. "It was very special. I got to pitch where it all started against a team I grew up watching. I thought that was pretty cool and even better than we came out on top." Martinez (3-9) allowed six hits and threw 62 of 96 pitches for strikes. He was born in nearby Hialeah and pitched at Belen Jesuit Prep, about 12 miles from Marlins Park. Leonys Martin had three hits for Texas, which grabbed a 5-0 lead after two innings. And after giving up the two solo homers, Neftali Feliz got his fifth save in six tries, striking out Donovan Solano to end the game with the tying run on base. Feliz closed it out moments after manager Ron Washington visited the mound and nearly pulled him. "He said, Give me one more hitter and he said it like he meant it," Washington said. "So I gave him one more hitter." Marlins starter Nathan Eovaldi (6-Cool gave up nine hits and five runs, four earned, in five innings. Martinez had a 3-0 lead before taking the mound in his home city for the first time. Texas -- which had been held to three runs or less in 14 of its last 18 games entering Wednesday -- strung together four straight two-out hits in the opening inning. J.P. Arencibias double brought Rios home with the first run, and Adrian Beltre came around when Marlins shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria dropped the relay. Martins single made it 3-0, and Rios second-inning double -- on a popup that dropped in right -- pushed the lead to 5-0. "I was leaving the fastball up in the zone, couldnt get that slider to have that good bite to it," Eovaldi said. "Its tough for us to come back from 5-0 after two innings but we were right there, knocking on the door at the end." Martinez gave up an RBI double to Ozuna in the fourth, then let Ozuna score Miamis second run on a wild pitch. Otherwise, he largely escaped trouble. Ozuna and Christian Yelich each had three hits for Miami. "Too many runs early," Marlins manager Mike Redmond said. "Its a day game, 12:40 start, weve got to come out of the chute and put up some zeroes, give our offence a chance to get going. To give up five runs in two innings, that cant happen." TRAINERS ROOM Rangers: In his fifth rehab outing, LHP Derek Holland (microfracture surgery on left knee) gave up seven hits and two earned runs in five-plus innings for Triple-A Round Rock against Tacoma on Tuesday night, earning the win. The Rangers still lead big league teams with 14 players on the DL. Marlins: The Marlins hope to get reliever Dan Jennings back in the coming weeks, and the bullpen will get a boost in the interim. LHP Brad Hand starts Sunday, meaning RHP Brad Penny is eligible for relief work. UP NEXT Rangers: Texas is off Thursday. RHP Colby Lewis (8-10, 5.52) gets the ball for the Rangers on Friday night when they open a weekend homestand against Kansas City and Royals right-hander Yordano Ventura (9-9, 3.4Cool. Itll be the first meeting between the clubs in 2014. Marlins: Following a day off Thursday, the Marlins open a nine-game road trip when RHP Henderson Alvarez (9-5, 2.43) starts Friday at Colorado. LHP Franklin Morales (5-6, 5.04) is the scheduled starter for the Rockies. HOME LETDOWN The Marlins three-game home winning streak was snapped. Miami hasnt won four straight at home since May 4-7. SIZZLING MARTIN Martin is batting .500 (15-30) in his last eight games for Texas, including five multi-hit games. Cheap Patriots Jerseys . Spains victory rendered Frances 3-0 win against Finland meaningless as Spain needed just one point to secure passage to Brazil. Franck Ribery and Karim Benzema scored either side of Joona Toivios own-goal as France advanced to the playoff among the eight best second-place finishers. Irving Fryar Jersey . The team made the announcement after Saturdays 6-5 loss to the Cincinnati Reds. RHP Kenny Giles will be called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to fill Adams spot on the roster. https://www.patriotsjerseysale.com/1351p-justin-bethel-jersey-patriots.html .C. -- Lucy Li made two double bogeys, a triple bogey and finished her historic round at the U.HOUSTON -- Courtney Lee scored 19 points, Zach Randolph added 15 and the Memphis Grizzlies held off the Houston Rockets for an 88-87 win on Friday night. Mike Miller drew an offensive foul to give Houston the ball back with 8.3 seconds left. But Patrick Beverley shot an air ball 3-point attempt under heavy pressure to give the Grizzlies the victory. It is the first win for Memphis over a Southwest Division opponent after it started the season 0-10 in the division. The victory ruined a spectacular night for Houstons Chandler Parsons. He had a career-high 34 points and made 10 3-pointers -- all in the second half. It is an NBA record for 3s in a half and a franchise record for 3s in a game. A 6-1 run by Memphis gave the Grizzlies an 88-84 lead with about two minutes left. Parsons made his 10th 3 to make it 88-87 right after that. He had his only miss of the second half a few seconds later, and Houston couldnt get him the ball on the last possession. James Harden set a career high with 13 assists, but had a tough night shooting. He was just 2 of 11 and finished with 10 points. The Grizzlies led by four points when Houston scored five quick points capped by Parsons ninth 3-pointer to take an 83-82 lead with a little than more than four minutes remaining. He was knocked to the ground by Tayshaun Prince as it left his hand and no foul was called. He looked angrily at the nearest official as the crowd erupted when it swished the net. Memphis outscored Houston 12-7 over the first four minutes of the fourth quarter to take a 76-71 lead. Parsons hit his eighth 3-pointer of the game after that before a free throw by Jeremy Lin got Houston within one point. The Rockets scored the first 12 points of the second half to erase a nine-point deficit and take a 466-44 lead with about nine minutes left in the third quarter. Rodney Harrison Jersey. Houston -- which had made just one 3-pointer in the first half -- had two during that run. They were both by Parsons, who was 0 for 3 on 3s in the first half. The Grizzlies had two turnovers and missed three shots during that run by Houston. Memphis finally ended its offensive drought with a 3-pointer by Prince after that, but Houston responded with a pair of 3s to push the lead to 52-47. Zach Randolph scored seven straight points after that to put the Grizzlies back on top 53-52. About a minute later, Lee scored the first five points of a 7-0 spurt to extend the lead to 60-55. Houston tied the game at 64-all entering the fourth quarter thanks to 3-pointers on three consecutive possessions by Parsons to end the third and leave him with six in the quarter. Memphis had a one-point lead in the second quarter when it used an 11-2 spurt to extend the advantage to 34-24 about 4 1/2 minutes left before halftime. Ed Davis scored six points during that run and Mike Conley added a 3-pointer. The Rockets missed five 3-pointers in that span as part of an 0-for-12 start to 3-point shooting on Friday night. Omri Casspi made Houstons first one with less than a minute remaining in the first half. They were 1 for 14 on 3s in the first half and trailed 44-35 at the break. The Grizzlies were up by seven points in the first quarter before Houston used a 12-6 run to cut the lead to 21-20. Dwight Howard started it with an alley-oop dunk and Lin capped it with a layup.
