SAN FRANCISCO - A lifelong San Francisco fan had a piece of team history in his hands Thursday night: the home run ball that sent the Giants to the World Series. Dennis Rodman Jersey .Then he gave it back.Frank Burke, who owns a transmission repair business in Oakdale, said that he wanted the hitter, Travis Ishikawa, to have the ball.I believe in karma, he told The Associated Press. I didnt hit that ball ....if anybodys going to have that ball in their game room or trophy case, its going to be the guy who hit it.Burke said he hadnt planned on keeping the ball. He keeps home run balls from his high school days in his own trophy case.Theyre still important to me, theyre part of my memories, he said. So why would I think that he (Ishikawa) wouldnt want the same thing? So after having the ball authenticated by a Giants official, and being told that Ishikawa wanted it back, Burke went down to the clubhouse area and handed it over. Ishikawa shook hands, thanked him, and gave him a signed bat in return.Burke said Giants officials asked him what he would like and he suggested World Series tickets but was told that was unlikely. After doing a media interview the next morning, however, he got a call from the Giants. Burke now has four tickets to Game 3 of the World Series at San Franciscos AT&T Park on Friday night. It will be the Giants first home game against the Kansas City Royals.Burke plans on taking his friend, Greg Leutza, who is battling cancer. The two were at Thursdays game because Burke wanted to do something special for Leutza and went searching for tickets after the Giants won the National League Division Series.Ishikawas drive came their way as they sat above the stadiums right field wall in the ninth inning with two Giants on base.As the ball sped toward him, Burke thought to himself: Soft hands, soft hands. Dont let this thing bounce back on the field. The ball went off his left hand but he was able to grab it with his right. The whole place erupted, Burke said. It was a walkoff home run. We were going to the World Series! Other fans clustered around.I couldnt move from where I was because everyone around me wanted to touch the ball, take pictures with the ball. I must have taken 300 selfies in 15 minutes, he said. After meeting Ishikawa and turning over the ball, Burke and Leutza walked out of the clubhouse like two little kids, hootin and hollerin, he said. But Burke said the ball and the bat werent the things he treasured most.Just the memory for me and my buddy, thats priceless, he said. That meant more to me than anything else will. Clyde Lovellette Lakers Jersey .Y. - Major League Soccers independent review panel has taken back the fine and one-game suspension it placed on Toronto FC forward Luke Moore earlier this week. Bob McAdoo Lakers Jersey . Bring on Freddy Garcia. The well-travelled 36-year-old right-hander earned his second NL victory since 2007, and his first since he joined the Atlanta Braves last month, pitching six innings to help beat Miami 6-1 Thursday. https://www.lakersjerseycheap.com/461j-michael-cooper-jersey-lakers.html . 1. CAVALIERS: At 19-20, theyre a mess. Watched the game Tuesday night vs. Phoenix and their defence was poor (107 points and 52 per cent for Suns). Where is the high level play from Kyrie Irving and LeBron James (13 turnovers!)? Kevin Love looks like a man thats wondering what he got himself into.LANDOVER, Md. -- Referee Jeff Triplette acknowledged the down marker was moved incorrectly on the Washington Redskins last possession of a 24-17 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday night, but said halting play to fix the mistake "would have given an unfair advantage." On second-and-5 from his own 41 coming out of the two-minute warning, Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III completed a pass to Pierre Garcon. The play gained 4 yards, making it third-and-1, but the down marker was shifted, indicating there was a first down. Washington coach Mike Shanahan said after the game that he asked an official to measure to see whether that play had earned a first down -- but was told that wasnt necessary. After an incomplete pass, the announcement was made that it was fourth-and-1 and not, as the Redskins believed, second-and-10. "The chain said first down, and then when we came back, we think its second-and-10, and theyre yelling out its fourth down. No explanation. No measurement. Didnt stop the clock to allow the chains to move back," Griffin said. "And we just had to go ahead and call the play." Both Shanahan and Griffin said the confusion over the proper down might have affected the play choice on fourth-and-1. But Griffin did complete a 6-yard pass to Garcon there -- which would have bbeen enough to extend the drive -- before safety Will Hill stripped the ball away after the catch and ran the other way. Fake Lakers Jerseys. The Giants ran out the clock. "I told him I wanted a measurement, because I knew it was close. It was inches. And he said, No, its a first down. And he moved the chains," Shanahan said. "And then after I saw it was fourth down, I asked him, You already told me it was first down. He didnt say anything. So that was quite disappointing." Speaking to a pool reporter, Triplette said: "We signalled third down on the field. The stakes were moved incorrectly. After that play, we said it was still third down. We had signalled third down prior to the play starting. The stakes just got moved incorrectly." The game was inside the final two minutes, and the Redskins were out of timeouts. "We just didnt shut it down in that situation, because that would have given an unfair advantage," Triplette said. Asked about the odd sequence, Giants defensive end Justin Tuck said: "I saw that, and I was like, That aint a first down, but they put a first down on the sticks. I was trying to signal to (Giants coach Tom) Coughlin, You might want to challenge that, but the play was going fast there. ... Lucky for us, they corrected their mistake." ' ' '
